About Averygh
In the year 1904 W & T [William & Thomas] Avery invented Weighing Scale and formed the Company W & T Avery Limited. A UK based company, situated in Foundry Lane, Smethwick, West Midlands, B66 2LP Birmingham, England. In June 2000, the merger of Weigh-Tronix and Avery Weigh-Tronix brought together some of the best known and longest-established companies in the weighing industry.
The consolidation of the group was finally completed in September 2003, when the change of name to Avery Weigh-Tronix created a single corporate entity to service today’s global markets. In October 1961 a branch of W& T.
Avery Ltd was established in Ghana, then situated at South Labadi Industrial estate to look after the thousands of Avery platform scales already in the country especially the Cocoa industry. The presence of these platform scales in the remotest villages of the cocoa growing areas is well known.
